Abstract Records of the Friends of Literature, a group incorporated in Chicago in 1934 as an umbrella group for the Chicago Foundation for Literature. Its purpose was to study literature and to honor those who create it, through monthly presentations by prominent authors and the presentation of annual awards to American writers of fiction and non-fiction.
