Includes schedules, notebooks relating to the Elgin Academy or Select School, which John Bearss Newcomb founded in 1846. The schedules list names of students, days absent, classes taught each term. Also included are documents created from 1864 while John Bearss Newcomb was City Sexton of Elgin and superintendent of Bluff City Cemetery.
