Includes correspondence as well as financial records, ticket sales, and miscellaneous documents relating to Orchestra Hall and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, of which Oakley was an officer on the board of trustees. Because of Oakley's financial acumen, he was actively involved in, and the recipient of various papers and letters concerning, monetary matters such as the negotiations over salary with the Chicago Federation of Musicians and James Petrillo, the union president.
