Scope and Contents note

This series consists of correspondence between Walter Cass Newberry and various men from his regiment, the 24th NY Cavalry; biographical sketches and histories written by Walter Cass Newberry and Major Henry C. Meyer; correspondence between men of the regiment related to the 4th anniversary reunion of the 24th NY; a Company Descriptive Book; regimental rosters of the 24th NY; several photographs, presumably of men from the regiment; and the official transcript of W.C. Newberry’s military record. Correspondents include Hampton Thomas, Daniel Hurley, H.H. Scoville, R.A. Schwab, John. C. Hannan, S.E. Chandler, M. Umbdenstock, Thomas Conklin, George Washington Goethals, Henry. C. Meyer, Russel A. Alger, and Charles A. Taylor.
