Scope and Contents note

Reports, memoranda, and correspondence related to the activities and responsibilities of the GPTD, and not specific to any Passenger Train Line. Includes files regarding the handling of Mail, and reports on the quality control of the passengers' experience. Includes some publicity materials as well as routine administrative files, primarily from the late 1950s to the early 1960s. Also includes Files for Special train movements (that is, chartered trains by various organizations or for various events).

Most of the records reflect the activities of the company from the late 1950s to the mid-1960s, and may have been donated to show a small representative sample of the activities of the department.
