Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Financial records consist of volumes and loose documents keeping track of the income and expense flow for the organization. Along with account books (journals, ledgers, and cash books), there are also banking records, external auditors' reports, insurance information (workmen's compensation, fine arts insurance, theft, fire, liquor liability, comprehensive general liability, and blanket position bond insurance), investment information, personnel and payroll (not complete), tax statements, information about some vendors, and other miscellaneous material. Individual invoices, receipts, and vouchers were kept for some of the early years: scattered ones for the 1920's and 1930's, and 1942 and 1945 as samples of the day-to-day expenses of the Club. Also, for years for which there are no accounting volumes, i.e. the late 1950's, these invoices, receipts and vouchers were saved.

For more auditor's reports and financial statements, see Arts Club minute books in Series 6: Committees and Membership.
