Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Newspaper clippings, fliers and brochures, press kits, press releases, and programs covering Ruth Page's career. Newspaper clippings include features about Page and her companies; many reviews of specific productions are in the Productions series. There are also extensive clippings in the Scrapbooks Series.

The bulk of the programs are from performance or productions by Ruth Page. Notably there are programs from many of her international tours including her oriental tour with Harald Kreutzberg and her French tours with Bentley Stone. There are also programs from her first performances with Anna Pavlova and Adolph Bolm. Also included are the Nutcracker and Foundation programs that showcased her choreography after her death in 1991. A small number of programs are from performances she attended or that other people sent to her for reference. Many of the programs from productions she attended have extensive annotations by Ruth of her thoughts on the productions. Ruth has signed many of the programs in the collection and there are signed programs by George Balanchine, Harald Kreutzberg, and other dancers she collaborated with throughout her career.
