Scope and Contents note

The small group of miscellany includes: Doyle’s notes for a lecture on religious or spiritual ideas; an article reporting on a memorial service for Doyle; photocopies of correspondence regarding the publication of Doyle stories, originals at the British Museum; and obituaries and memorial for Doyle’s daughter, Jean, who died in 1997. Also, some clippings and photos sent to Doyle by Edward N. Beecher; a piece of ephemera from the Divorce Law Reform Union; and a document signed by E.F. Vidocq, founder of the French Surete.

The C. Frederick Kittle collection of Doyleana are open for research in the Special Collections Reading Room; 5 folders at a time maximum, and items in each folder will be counted before and after delivery to the patron (Priority I).
