Documentation of the overall and day-to-day administration of the Hubbard Street Dance company and its sub-categories.

The first meeting of the Hubbard Street Dance Company Board of Directors was held at 125 W. Hubbard Street, Dec. 29, 1977. Four directors were present: Lou Conte (President and Treasurer), Felix Shuman (Vice President), Barbara Cohen (Secretary), and Tracy VonderHaar. Barbara Cohen worked as the Executive Director of the company until she resigned on Jan. 1, 1984. She was replaced by Gail Kalver, who was Executive Director from 1984-2007. The majority of the records in this series are from the office of Gail Kalver, although there are also some files from staff in the Development, Tour management, Company management, and Financial departments.

Board of Directors and Executive Committee meeting files are mostly Barbara Cohen's (until Jan. 1, 1984) and Gail Kalver's, although missing copies of minutes were also taken from other staff members to create as complete a series as possible. General information about the Board governance comes before the Board of Directors and Executive Committee meeting minutes and attachments. Other committees, such as the Membership Committee, are filed under Committees. Minutes from the Strategic Planning Committee are filed under Planning. Minutes from the Finance Committee are in the Financial Series. Minutes from the Membership Committee are in the Development Series. Repertory files include contracts with choreographers, designers, permissions for music, royalty statements, budgets, schedules, biographical information, reviews, timings, and credits. Tours and Presenter Files, which make up a large majority of the Administrative files, come from Gail Kalver, mixed with files of Tour managers (such as Susan Repin,) and Company managers (Don Sorsa, Jeffery Jackson) and Marketing department material (include itineraries, travel information, accommodation information, contracts, budgets, expenses, correspondence, program drafts, cast and repertory changes, promotion information.) These files are lacking most of 1995-1996 and 1996-1997 seasons and Fall 1997.
