Chicago Dance Coalition's administrative, financial, photographic, and audiovisual materials. See below for the scope and contents notes for each subseries. Organized in the following subseries:

Subseries 1, Administrative: Administrative materials such as advocacy efforts, annual meeting information, annual reports, board materials, correspondence, marketing and advertising information, and reports related to the CDC. The administrative files also contain collaborative project and program information. Additionally it includes materials related to their workshops. For information regarding the development committee, membership committee, or finance committee, see the corresponding subseries. Arranged alphabetically and then chronologically when applicable with miscellaneous at the end. Oversize items are at the end. General files that correspond to particular materials are at the beginning.

Subseries 2, Development: Contains grant materials. Chiefly, completed applications, correspondence, receipts, status reports, and general information related to CDC’s efforts to acquire grant funding from various organizations and foundations. Also includes development committee information. Arranged alphabetically then chronologically when applicable.

Subseries 3, Membership: Contains completed membership applications and lists, as well as administrative materials related to CDC’s membership, which consisted of individual/professional members, for-profit organizational members, not-for-profit organizational members, and student members. Additionally includes the organization’s resource file. The resource file holds information on select CDC members, member prospects, and organizations /projects CDC collaborated with/worked with, and general dance/arts issues. The resource file does include some photographs. For additional photographs, contact sheets, and slides, etc. see the photographs subseries. Arranged alphabetically, save for the general files which come first and the resource file which comes last.

Subseries 4, Financial: Includes CDC’s financial information such as audits, budgets, payroll, and taxes. Arranged alphabetically by material type, then chronologically therein with miscellaneous at the end.

Subseries 5, Ruth Page Awards: Contains planning materials, correspondence, nominations, programs, and invitations that relate to the Ruth Page Awards, which started in 1986. For photographs and audiovisual materials, see corresponding subseries. Arranged chronologically.

Subseries 6, Publicity: Includes CDC publicity materials such as brochures, calendars, directories, newsletters, and press clippings. Also it’s important to note that the Chicago Dance Directory began as the Dance Instruction Directory (1986-1991), but it is referred to as the former. Arranged alphabetically by material type, then chronologically therein. Save for the poster which is oversize and at the end.

Subseries 7, Photographs: Photographs, negatives, contact sheets, and slides of dance companies, individual dancers, the Ruth Page Awards, and CDC events, etc. Most items are undated. Some photographs also include accompanying correspondence. The membership resource file in the third subseries, membership contains additional photographs. Arranged alphabetically with miscellaneous at the end.

Subseries 8, Audiovisual: Audiocassettes, VHS, and Betacam SP formats. The majority of the audio items are recordings from annual CDC member retreat from 1985 to 1992 with some gaps. Miscellaneous tapes cover Ruth Page Awards press and various projects involving CDC. Some videos are probably related to Ruth Page Awards or DanceLink. Arranged by type of recording with audio first and video second. Audio arranged alphabetically and then chronologically where applicable. Video arranged alphabetically with Ruth Page Awards materials at the end in chronological order.
