Chicago Music Alliance's administrative, financial, photographic, and audiovisual materials. See the following paragraphs for the scope and contents notes for each subseries. Organized in the following subseries:

Subseries 1, Administrative: Correspondence, planning materials for events coordinated with other cultural organizations chiefly in Chicago, general files maintained by administrative personnel, materials related to committees and organizations CMA actively participated in, and music/ performing arts resources for their membership. Also contains advocacy campaigns, efforts, and initiatives, as well as board materials such as agendas, memos, and minutes and committee information. Additionally the administrative files contain advertising and marketing information. For membership committee information see the membership subseries. Arranged alphabetically, and then chronologically when applicable. General files that correspond to particular materials come first and miscellaneous files are at the end.

Subseries 2, Development: General development and fundraising information. The majority of the subseries contains grant materials such as completed applications, status reports from CMA, invoices/receipts, correspondence, and other materials related to CMA’s efforts to acquire funding from various organizations. Arranged with the general materials first, then alphabetically and chronologically therein when applicable, with miscellaneous at the end.

Subseries 3, Membership: Contains materials related to CMA’s membership such as general files, brochures, manuals, meeting information, member prospects, questionnaires, and surveys. Arranged with the general files first then alphabetically, and chronologically when applicable.

Subseries 4, Financial: Includes CMA’s financial information such as audits, budgets, payroll, and taxes. Arranged alphabetically by material type, and then chronologically therein with miscellaneous at the end.

Subseries 5, Publicity: CMA calendars, clippings, newsletters, press releases and publicity materials in addition to some from other organizations. Arranged alphabetically by material type, then chronologically.

Subseries 6, Photographs: Photographs, negatives, and contact sheets chiefly related to CMA events. Arranged alphabetically with miscellaneous at the end.

Subseries 7, Audiovisual: Audiocassette related to CMA board meetings, conferences, programs, retreats, and workshops. Arranged alphabetically and then chronologically where applicable.
