Negatives (35 mm and 120 film format), contact sheets, prints, and transparencies created by Chicago photographer Orlando Cabanban. Images are primarily of events related to the American Indian Center of Chicago (AIC), the oldest urban Native American center in the United States founded in 1953. Social activities documented include powwows, day camps, the AIC canoe club and basketball team, and the American Indian Festival held at the Field Museum. There are also images of AIC meetings, demonstrations, and individual and family portraits taken by Cabanban. Also includes additional materials related to these events and miscellaneous photographs and negatives.

Dates listed are taken from negative sleeves and are likely the date that the film was developed rather than the date of the event. Most rolls include negatives and some also have contact sheets and prints. Multiple rolls from the same event have been grouped together.
