Series 51: Organizational Charts, 1964-ongoing
Scope and Contents
Director and Librarian (later President and Librarian) L. W. Towner initiated the preparation of organizational charts for insertion in the annual report. Charts were also issued irregularly to document major administrative and organizational changes. Charts show job titles, staff member names, and reporting structure to the departmental level. Prior to 1962, organizational information is located in the annual reports of the Board of Trustees, 1888-1941, (Record Group 02/01/20), and in salary budgets enclosed with the Minutes of the Board of Trustees, 1942-1959 (Record Group 02/01/30).

Unprocessed records are available by appointment only. Advance notice is necessary, particularly for administrative files, so that files may be screened for personnel records that are removed when records are processed.
Files containing personal or confidential information about individuals (including individual files on members of the Board of Trustees, individual donor files and records reporting the donations of an individual, personnel records, payroll records, and individual accepted fellows files) are closed for 30 years.
