Reporters' copy, notes, and supporting subject materials such as court documents, clippings, and press releases collected by reporters covering federal legal cases in Chicago. Materials date from the late 1980s to 2000, with the exception of a small amount of material from the 1940s and 1950s. Subject matter is similar to that of the rest of the series, but the items are primarily notes, press releases, and biographical sheets with very little in the way of original news copy. (Note: "H" - "K" and most of "L," "R"- "Z" were missing from the files at the time of donation.)
