Scope and Contents note

From the Sub-Series:

220 color maps, on sheets 100 x 155 cm or smaller, folded to 31 x 13 cm or smaller. Michelin maps issued as special editions for corporate clients, usually including company advertising or logos printed in sheet margins, and based on stock editions of numbered sheets from several regional and national series. Some of these include unusual thematic content added to otherwise conventional road maps. Most maps in this group cover France or French regions; exceptions include one world map, and maps of north and west Africa, Austria, Benelux, England, Europe, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Monaco, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, and Wales. Includes multiple editions of some sheets.

Of these 220 maps, 78 were issued solely by Michelin, or were issued without indicating a clear relationship to a client; these are listed under Michelin's name. Entries include client name, thematic subject headings, title keywords, sheet number, date, edition, cover design code, scale, and notes. Includes special or derivative editions of sheets 19, 20, 57, 61, 62, 64, 65, 66, 68, 70, 71, 72, 74, 76, 84, 85, 89, 96, 98, 99, 100, 106, 120, 153, 166, 170, 171, 182, 189, 198, 199, 235, 240, 244, 250, 251, 252, 253, 260, 261, 266, 270, 271, 276, 277, 279, 409, 470, 601, 602, 603, 604, 605, 606, 607, 608, 609, 610, 726, 728, 902, 910, 912, 916, 920, 953, 954, 986, 987, 989, 990, 998, 999, 4014, 4031, 4037, 4060, 4061, 4063, 4064, 4069, 4072, 4077, 4080, and 9899.
