79 color maps, on sheets 100 x 144 cm or smaller, folded to 25 x 11 cm or smaller. Most maps of central and southern Africa include inset maps of Madagascar. Most maps of northeastern Africa include part or all of the Arabian Peninsula. All maps of northwestern Africa include Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia; those published between 1965-2007 include all of western Africa, and extend southward to the Gulf of Guinea. Sheet numbers include 151, 152, 153, 154, 155, 182, 741, 745, 746, 953, 954, and 955. Includes multiple editions of most sheets. Issued in one of three scales: 1:2,000,000; 1:3,000,000; and 1:4,000,000. The 1949-1954 editions of sheet 152, covering the Sahara Desert and adjacent regions, detail the 1943 French military raids led by General Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque into Italian-controlled Libya.
