An autobiographical account of how the author became interested in politics at Madeira School (boarding school in Virginia) where Eleanor Roosevelt gave monthly lectures. Since that time she has almost always accepted a job, from poll-taking to Winnetka Village Council. She, her husband and also her father loved to have political debates since she is a Democrat and they are Republicans.
