Materials related to the E.W. and Mary E. Blatchford family, including their unmarried children, Frances (Fanny) Blatchford, Edward (Ned) Blatchford, and E. Huntington Blatchford. Correspondence of E.W. and Mary E. Blatchford is primarily to and from family and friends, though there is a small amount of E.W. Blatchford's business correspondence. Personal items of E.W. Blatchford include some business materials, much documentation of his various social and philanthropic activities, and reminiscences and writings. Personal items of Mary E. Blatchford include efforts to document her family's heritage, materials related to the couple's 50th wedding anniversary, and Mary E. Blatchford's reminiscences and writings, including details of her family's relocation to Illinois in the 1830s. Items of Edward Blatchford include correspondence, a diary of the family's 1884-1885 European trip, estate plans, materials related to his work in Jerusalem, and information related to the Board of Trustees of Illinois College, of which he was a member. Items of E. Huntington Blatchford include letters to his parents describing his travels and military service, as well as some childhood drawings. Items of Fanny Blatchford included hundreds of letters to her brother Paul Blatchford, to whom she was very close, and some charcoal drawings.
