Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Photographic images in various forms, the bulk of which are prints (either loose or pasted in photograph albums). Framed photographs are ambrotypes and tintypes, and are of Bent family ancestors, including Bents, Hudsons, Wingates, and Paynes. Each framed photograph includes a slip of paper identifying the person(s); the notes were made by Dorothy Bent Lane. Some albums are collections of cabinet photographs; other albums show family members at summer homes in Wisconsin, and also in travels to the West: Yosemite in 1900, Montana in 1919, etc. Documentary photographer Wallace Kirkland was a family friend of the MacLeans, and photographs taken by him of family outings and events are indicated. Prints include photographs separated from correspondence showing travel scenes and candid photographs.
