Scope and Contents note

Material includes the transcribed copies of Ruth Daube Gridley and Marion Gridley Hitchcock's diaries. Ruth's diaries are from 1917-1927 and 1945-1950, and Marion's spans 1951-1958. There is also a biography of Ruth Gridley written by Marion in 2006 with copies of family photographs and some letters, and a genealogy of the Gridley family written by Marion in 1998. Other personal material includes a Civil War enlistment roster, miscellaneous notes written by Harry Gridley at Beloit College, newspaper clippings, catalogs, and 19th-century wedding invitations and announcements.
