Four sections of scrapbooks relating to art purchases: receipts, letters, information, miscellany, ca.1878-1918
Scope and Contents note
There are two types of scrapbooks. The first records art purchases and consists of receipts, some correspondence, information and memorabilia relating to the Hutchinsons’ buying trips in various parts of the world, both for their personal collection and also for the Art Institute. The second type of scrapbook is more personal, including items concerning Charles Hutchinson’s father, Benjamin P. Hutchinson, and mainly consists of clippings, articles, invitations, announcements and other items, dating from about 1899 to 1920.
