Scope and Contents note
Large collection of letters, manuscripts and printed items from members of Tietjens' family; her wide circle of friends from around the world; her publishers; and literary associates and prominent writers, especially in regard to her work as an editor at the magazine Poetry. Some of the well-known names represented are: Maxwell Anderson (2), Pearl Buck (3), Floyd Dell (5), Robert Frost (4), D.H. Lawrence (2), Vachel Lindsay (14), Amy Lowell (6), Edgar Lee Masters (86 letters and 72 manuscript items), H.L. Mencken (2), Ezra Pound (1), Carl Sandburg (1), Booth Tarkington (2), Sara Teasdale (71 letters and 12 ms. items), Louis Untermeyer (3), and Elinor Wylie (5). Also includes some photographs and other materials, which are noted in the container list.
