Scope and Contents note

From the Series:

Correspondence with fellow military officers and French government officials pertaining to McCormick's work with the American Expeditionary Forces, American Field Service, the American Red Cross, and the American Relief Administration during World War I. Also includes newspaper clippings, battlefield maps, postcards, calling cards, and military orders, and material about fundraising and awareness campaigns for the American Ambulance Field Service. There is also a folder of journal type writing which appears to be preliminary material for a report on the food relief situation in Poland for which McCormick was sent to investigate by Herbert Hoover.
