History of P22 Type Foundry

P22 Type Foundry, based in Buffalo, New York and founded by Richard Kegler, began making digital type faces in 1994 inspired by artists such as Marcel Duchamp and Joan Miro as well as artistic styles such as Arts and Crafts and Futurism. Prior to the founding of the Type Foundry, the P22 name was used for different endeavors including a small letterpress print shop.

Outside of designing and creating typefaces, P22 has also produced music, a film, and other printed materials and artifacts.
