Biography of Donald Jackson

Donald Jackson is a British calligrapher who is the official scribe and calligrapher to the Crown Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. He is the artistic director of the Saint John’s Bible, a handwritten and illuminated Bible commissioned by the Benedictine monastery of Saint John’s Abbey in Minnesota.

After studying at the Bolton School of Art, Central School of Arts and Crafts, and Goldsmiths’ College, he went on to teach at the Camberwell College of Art in London.

Jackson is the author of The Story Of Writing (1981) and The Calligrapher's Art (1985).
