Abstract

Clippings, notebooks, correspondence, and interview tapes from Ellen Warren, senior correspondent and columnist for the Chicago Tribune. Warren was the first female "legman" for Chicago journalist Mike Royko and went on to a notable and varied career for the Chicago Daily News, Chicago Sun-Times, and Knight Ridder newspapers as well as the Tribune as a political correspondent, lifestyle columnist, and Chicago metro correspondent. Warren started in 1969 and retired in October 2014. Additions include some microcassettes, an inflatable spider, and a rubber chicken which hung over her desk at the Tribune.
