Barkhausen family papers

 Collection
Identifier: Midwest-MS-074

Scope and Content of the Collection

Correspondence, a notebook, and an account book, all in one folder.

Correspondence (1854-1862) is either unidentified or from August Barkhausen to "Louis." The handwritten notebook (ca. 1857-1872) contains English pronunciation notes for common words (and their German translations), some poem passages, and copies of contracts and letters from a "Louis Voliker." It is not determined whether or not the Louis Voliker mentioned in the notebook is the same as Louis in the salutation of the letters. The account book (1888-1889) lists daily income and expenditures
