Abstract

Correspondence, clippings, photographs and memorabilia of Chicago entertainer known as the "Comedy King of Vaudeville." His father was Henry Horn, who operated and booked nightclubs in the early 1900s and was the onetime owner of Chicago's Green Mill Tavern. Born in 1909, Horn performed as a dancer, comedian, and emcee throughout the US and Europe.

Abstract

Photographs, programs, clippings and other material documenting the dance career of Betty Felsen (1905-2000), Felsen danced in the corps de ballet of the Pavley-Oukrainsky Ballet in Chicago starting at age 15; after ballet she had a vaudeville career with dancing partner Jack Broderick. Subsequently, Felsen started dance schools in Worcester, Massachusetts, and Cleveland, Ohio.

Dates: 1905-2000; Majority of material found within 1916-1937
