Scope and Contents note
Series consists of a 7-volume bound set of her father Charles E. Perkins' personal letters and other memorabilia, entitled "General Material," spanning the dates 1814-1907. Letters include personal information, such as his thoughts on joining the Army for the Civil War, setting up housekeeping as a bachelor, correspondence with Edith Forbes Perkins right after their marriage in 1864, and contemplating resigning from the railroad.
The 7 volumes were originally cataloged in the 1949 printed guide as C-O 1 P4.9.

Biographical/Historical note
Edith Perkins (1873-1961) was the daughter of Edith Forbes and Charles E. Perkins. Her nicknames were "Plummy," or "Bunny." She married Edward Cunningham (d. 1917) in 1892, and their son Edward Cunningham was born in 1893.
