General Material, 1874-1878
Scope and Contents note
Series consists of a 7-volume bound set of her father Charles E. Perkins' personal letters and other memorabilia, entitled "General Material," spanning the dates 1814-1907. Letters include personal information, such as his thoughts on joining the Army for the Civil War, setting up housekeeping as a bachelor, correspondence with Edith Forbes Perkins right after their marriage in 1864, and contemplating resigning from the railroad.
The 7 volumes were originally cataloged in the 1949 printed guide as C-O 1 P4.9.
